Travelled through Mississippi and we stopped at the welcome center. Talk about southern hospitality.

Arrived at our campsite in Louisiana at Fairview Riverside State Park

Louisiana is exactly as I have always imaged it to be from all the books that I've read.

A walk through the swamp that was located in the campground.

Took a picture of a Louisiana Cemetery where the crypts are above ground because of the land being at sea level

We wanted to visit the Otis House that was on the property but it was closed to visitors because they were filming on the site. We snuck in on Saturday when they weren't doing anything and the guard even waved to us. We got some good pictures of the outside of the house and gardens.

The closest we came to seeing an alligator was this little turtle on our way to the Otis House

Sunday, our plans were to go to New Orleans by way of the Lake Ponchartrain Causeway but it was windy and rainy with thunderstorms and water spouts near the center of the 25 mile causeway so we decided not to go. Spent a nice day just resting up and enjoying God's storms. In the evening, a couple we had met at the Nature Center in Alabama, who lives in Louisiana, looked us up and we spent and enjoyable evening with Harry and Jeannine, a brother and sister in Christ.  Unfortunately none of us remembered to take pictures.

We had to try some Louisiana food so the first night we went to the Five Girls Deli where we enjoyed shrimp and fish and a club sandwich. On a different night we went to The Anchor which was right on the river and we enjoyed some Louisiana Fish Fry and Voodoo Chips. It was deeeeelicious! We sat and enjoyed the live music and the breeze blowing in off the river.

And this was the end of our stay in Louisiana
