It's pouring rain again so I decided that today would be a good day to update the blog.
Crawford, CO
Our trip from Pueblo to Crawford was full of adventure, but not the fun kind, or at least not for us. The Rockies are such beautiful mountains unless you're driving on them in the middle of a snow storm. Not my idea of fun. But God got us through safely. After travelling through Monarch pass we were detoured onto CO 92 because CO 50 was closed. It was a long, narrow windy road that took us forever to travel on because the speed limit was 35, and I thought that was too fast.
Our next camping spot was in Crawford State Park which was a little disappointing after having looked at the pictures online of what it looked like; a beautiful reservoir with the Rockies as the backdrop. The mountains were there but not the water. Colorado is very dry and their reservoirs are low. While we're hoping for nice weather the people of Colorado are praying for rain.
The family that is travelling with us got a chance to spend some time with their relatives.
Here is a picture of the boat launch at the park. You can see how low the water is. We found the same thing when we went up Pike's Peak. Everyone told us how beautiful Crystal Reservoir was but when we got there we saw a big brown puddle.
