Our next two stops were one day layovers working our way out of Texas. Texas is a mighty big state.
Garner State Park in Concan, TX
I was really surprised because this is not what I imaged west Texas to look like. It reminded me very much of Pennsylvania, except for the Prickly Pear Cactus. We saw a variety of birds and even saw a jack rabbit. They say things are bigger in Texas, well, this jack rabbit was big. Unfortunately he hopped away before we could get his picture.
Here is our campsite. With us again are Steve, Donna and Parker
The site was huge and this was the view from our site
Prickly Pear Cactus
Summer Tananger
There was lots of miles of nothingness between the two parks. At least what we could see. I'm sure there is plenty of wildlife in them there desserts. But Texas has some of the nicest Rest Areas around. Picnic tables with sun covers.
This is more of what I expected west Texas to look like
Monahans Sandhills State Park

What do you do with all that sand? Why, you sled down the hills on it
Day is done. One more sleep and off to Carlsbad, NM
